And We’ve Begun:  #ROW80/#12WeekYear /Midweek Update 1

 

And…we’re off and running on another Round of Words in 80 Days! It’s time for our first midweek update.

I’m still adjusting to my new goals and focus, but they feel right for the transitional place my life is in, and I did make some progress, even if not so much in the arena of writing…

How are you doing with your aspirations in this new year?

My Round One/ 12 Week Year Two Goals

  • Blue with Overstrike: Goal Completed.

  • Green:  In Progress.

  • Black: Still Waiting.

 

Relationships, Family, and Home:

Doing:

Complete lists of homeschool activities/ update attendance for November: Due Week 2.

  • Week One progress: 0%.

Facilitate Miah’s driving practice; four times weekly: Due Weeks 1-12.

  • 1/4 times this week – errand run.
  • Week One progress: 25%.

Move bedroom furniture to better accommodate nurse visits; deep clean as I go; ask for help from kids as needed:  Due Week 1.

  • Moved all the essentials and deep cleaned with help from Miah.
  • Organized/cleaned/reset as I went.
  • Week One goal COMPLETED!

Use one-on-one time to touch base with all family members: Weeks 112.

  • Checked in with everyone. Mostly what’s needed are groceries, comfortable temperatures, and, for the kids, time with friends.
  • Week One progress: 100%

Set aside a few minutes five days weekly to arrange facilitation of needs: Weeks 1-12.

  • Not formally, but did consider this on Monday; 1/5.
  • Week One progress: 15%.

Being:

Focus on at least ten minutes with some combination of family members in common spaces daily: Weeks 1-12.

  • Honestly, I’ve been grouchy a lot more than I wanted to be – but spent some time with Jim, Miah, and Lise in these spaces.
  • Week One progress: 65%.

Gather and consider ideas on how to make our home a sweeter place. Weeks 1-12.

  • Doing well with this one. Gathering, considering, and, as much as possible, enacting (see above).
  • Week One progress: 100%

Professional/Financial:

Doing:

Inventory sauces; get count on what/how many labels needed: Due Week 3.

  • Have a plan to get sauces off the family room table when the tree comes down in a few days. It’s a start.
  • Week One progress: 10%

Go through checking account and insurance policy info; make list of monthly/quarterly bills and due dates:  Due Week 4.

  • The process has begun with fuel and electric bills, and searching for insurance info Jim put “somewhere.”
  • Week One progress: 5%.

Assist Jim in paying back sales taxes; find out how to dissolve business at the appropriate time: Due Week 6.

  • A bit of talk here; no real action yet.
  • Week One progress: 5%.

Do (or delegate) our taxes: Due Week 10.

  • See above.
  • Week One progress: 5%.

Create a base family budget – for now, and for the kids and I: Due Week 12.

  • Some internal brainstorming and conversation.
  • Week One progress: 5%.

Focus on learning via the courses I already have in progress: Due Weeks 1-12.

  • Drafted story start 3/11.

Work on beta projects I’ve agreed to as opportunity arises. Due Weeks 1-12.

Keep in touch with other writers –  reading blogs; commenting; participating in sprints and blog hops as I am able: Due Weeks 112.

Being:

Make lists of things we could use help with, as we think of them. Due weeks 1-12.

Body, Mind, and Soul:

Resume taking pictures, beautifying our home, drawing, coloring, singing, and other activities that I enjoy, as opportunities arises. Due weeks 1-12.

Alternate days of restful focus with more active days. Due weeks 1-12.

  • Sunday and Tuesday were active; Mnday was more restful.

Listen to my body, mind, and soul, and follow their leads to adjust accordingly. Due weeks 1-12.

  • Fell down on this, but began to reset on it later in the day Tuesday.

Being:

Follow a morning routine when possible. Due weeks 1-12.

  • Journaled Monday and Tuesday. Meditated Monday.

Use quiet moments as they present themselves. Due weeks 1-12.

  • Some; not as much as I’d like.

Make a practice of being present- right here, right now. Due weeks 1-12.

  • Fell down some on this; but managed to pick myself up again.

Prioritize time and connection with my beloveds over busy-ness. Due weeks 1-12.

  • This is a tricky one when life and our home are chaotic – but I did manage it more often than not, in several ways.
