Building And Adapting: February 19, 2017

Hey there!

We’re down to less than ten days in this shortest month, and that means it’s time for me to prune my monthly goals, so that I can focus my attention on the ones I most want to address with the time left.

There’s a lot here to cover, so I hope you won’t mind if I just get right to it.

  • Kifo Island: Write 5,000 words/week The Far Shore (KIC #6), until complete. Primary goal. Scene 24/24 in progress. 7,207/5,000 words; 69,688/~65,000 total (Scrivener count). #soclose!

  • #atozchallenge: Write theme reveal post. Tertiary goal. More simmering, and some notes.

  • Fan Fiction: Draft one new chapter each for “Cowled” and Love and Loss. Side goal. Cowled: 1,032 words. Scene 1/4 in progress. I suspect the chapter will be in the 5K range.

  • The IDIC Romance: Progress with revisions for On Any Tuesday Night (was First Contact, With Jazz), as I work through lessons 2-5 of Holly Lisle’s Revision Course . Continue revisions for A Backdrop of Stars  1-7; Revise January Chapters of “Arachnid Nebula” and “A Beagle’s Bedside Manner”; 1 chapter each. Primary goal. Opened ABOS Chapter Two for revisions; epiphany on POV in progress! January 2017 sections of Arachnid and Beagle to compile into chapters for revision. OATN: Reread lesson materials for the Promises Worksheets: 29 pages. Worksheets: p 4/82 (Scene 2) in progress. Adapting OATN goal. I’ll be thrilled to finish Lesson Two this month. I don’t want to rush through the learning process and end up taking several projects to get a handle on things.

  • Kifo Island: Sea Changes: Continue rough revision for crit group; scenes 710. Tertiary goal. Highlighted Scene 7; revision notes in progress; p 2/4. Adapting goal: Complete Scenes 7/8.

  • The IDIC Romance: Submit A Backdrop of Stars chapters 17; and Chapters 2 for “Arachnid” and “Beagle” to fan fiction sites as completed. Tertiary goal. Adapting goal: ABOS Chapters 2-3; setting others aside for March.

  • Blog Hops: #Loveuary: Write a daily drabble focused on the next chapters of Love and Loss, using a prompt pool from my fans ; visit other posters as I can. #atozchallenge:  Sign up for the challenge and complete any loose ends and unfinished businessby the end of the month, all posts should be finished and scheduled (to both website and blog). Primary goal. #Loveuary Drabbles: 18/28 complete. #atoz: Images selected/links added to post files through Week Five (Z): 26/26. Posts moved to files through Week Four (S): 20/26. Develop rough schedule to pre-produce April posts. Secondary goal WIPpet Wednesday; Skywatch Friday; #8sunday; #weekendcoffeeshare; and #SoCS posted . Idea for the pre-April planning simmering and building; I now have a tentative framework upon which to build a plan.

  • Homeschool Administration: Draft second quarter reports, due March 15. Create Flickr portfolios for this school year. Primary goal. Lise ELA/Math complete: 2/14(?) Lise: Fixed formatting in completed section; began Sciences: section 4/14).

  • Journal six mornings and three evenings each week. Meditate five mornings and two evenings weekly. Primary goal. Morning: 7/6 journal; 7/5 meditation. Evening: 3/3 journal; 2/2 meditation.

  • Get a cumulative total of at least 90 minutes moderate physical activity 6 days weekly; 99 minutes twice weekly, and 8 hours of more strenuous activities (tai chi, swimming, hiking, cardio, weights, etc.). Secondary goal. 90 minutes: 6/6; 99 minutes: 5/2; Strenuous: 3.5/ 8 hours; brief weights/cardio.

  • Smart Change: Reread early chapters/worksheets; create an approach plan. Side goal. Continued rereading Chapter Three; Question 1/3 in progress for 4/5 goals; this is the beginning of my approach plan.

Leaps of Faith:

  • Adding goal: Draft two posts for the Beauty of a Woman blogfest  (March 6). This is last minute, because I didn’t realize #BOAW2017 was upon us already. I missed last year, and don’t want to repeat that! Simmering ideas for both posts.

    1. I really wanted to be done…but was undone by the press conference on Thursday. It threw me – and endings are always the slowest part for me.

I figure I’m about halfway through the scene, though, and, once Miah and I get home from Allegiance this afternoon, I’m going to finish it, then treat myself to a first readthrough of your chapter. =)

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
