Penultimate Proof: June 19, 2016

Hey there, ROWers and others!

How is the last day of spring (or the last day of fall, if that’s what today is where you are) treating you?

I’m still in the midst of my extremely busy kid-week. In a little over an hour, I’ll be taking my daughter swimming, and then we’ll run a couple of errands before heading out to my write-in. She doesn’t always go with me, but she’d rather do that tonight than be home alone for a couple of hours waiting for my Accomplice to finish work (yes, it’s Sunday, and Father’s Day, but he’s a chef, so….)

Anyway, my focus was narrower by necessity and a desire for sanity as I made my way through the comings and goings this week held. We’re nearly through now; tomorrow, I’ll drive about 300 miles, to meet our out-of-state friends at the halfway point and bring our son home after his weekend away. I’m looking forward to the time with him, and having him back home. I’ve missed him, and so has his younger sister, who’s been an “only child” since Friday afternoon!

By Tuesday or Wednesday, life should be settling back into a more typical rhythm for us, and I expect to be drafting The Far Shore by then, too, since plotting has been moving on apace through all the comings and goings of the week.

How about you?

What plans do you have for the new season?

Ever have a happy-hectic week?

I’ve simplified my June goals (well, for my wide-angle norm, anyway.)

I post only goals I’ve interacted with in some way. That leaves space to chat with you, and I get a streamlined overview of where my energy, time, and focus were spent.

Writing:

 Plotting:

Revisions:

Blogging/Social Media:

  • Answer blog comments and make visits, at least four times weekly. Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Saturday. 4/4.

  • Interact on Twitter at least once a day, three times each week. If you want to chat with me there; I’m @shanjeniah. 7/3; sprint, sprint hosting on #JuNoWriMo, like, converse, reply, share.

  • ROW80: Keep visits and updates current.

  • Maintain email at below 123 messages; making good use of folders.

Hometending:

  • Continue decluttering/beautification projects; in home and/or yard, five days weekly. Continue making improvements to our home and our quality of life; remind/support the kids in the pitching-in they’ve agreed to do on my Accomplice’s days off. 4/5; Sunday; Wednesday; Friday; Saturday. Off week due to travel.

Lifetending:

  • Continue planning/ attending outings (personal and family) as desired. Oh, yes. Two kids, two directions, dropping off and picking up underway.

  • NNWM local group: Attend write-ins regularly and check in on the Facebook group as inspired. Peeked at the group.
  • My beloveds: One on one time with each, doing something of value to us both, each week. Canoodling; travel; music; conversation; videos; snuggles.
  • “Swineherdess:” Complete beta reading and return to author. Goal changing, since ReGi published! =D I’ll be reviewing this awesome story, instead.

Selftending:

  • Write in Abundance, Intentions, and #onegoodcup journals seven times each week. Meditate ten times weekly. Progress weekly with FutureLearn Mindfulness class. Journaling: 7/7; Meditation: 9/10.

  • Strenuous movement: At least an hour five times this month. Swimming, tai chi, yardtending, etc. 2/5. Long hilly walk with the boy.

  • Moderate activity: At least 45 minutes, 5 times a week. Use my timer. 5/5.

Leaps of Faith:

  • Website/blog interface: Begin linking feature posts to website; this month is for experimenting. I had a neat idea here; not quite ready to share, but stay tuned.

  • Oregon bound Burtons: Clean one common and one personal shelf, drawer, bin, or flat surface each week. Shelves underway in both areas; finished neither, due to travel week.

  1. Wow, you’ve been busy! I love your Mandala and the blue beard! 🙂 In Australia, for some reason, the seasons start at the beginning of the month; so winter started 1st June. It’s been annoying us ever since…

    Keep up the awesome work.

  2. Most of my weeks are hectic, and not always very happy. I just don’t know what I did when my kids were still home. How did I ever handle all the hectic then? We had one of those large desk calendars hanging on the kitchen wall and each person’s activities for the week were color-coded so I could tell from across the room who had something going on each day. Now, with just me and Hubby and no such calendar, most of my days are filled with confusion. Some how I get through.

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
