Hey there, ROWers and others!
I’ve simplified my June goals (well, simplified for my wide-angle norm, anyway.)
Rather than including all goals each session, I’m posting only those with which I’ve interacted in some way. That leaves space to chat with you, and give me a streamlined overview of where my energy, time, and focus were.
I’ll post a link to this original goals list in every update, for those who want to keep tabs.
When I posted on Sunday, I thought I was suffering from allergies.
By Monday afternoon, when I got achy, I suspected it was a cold that had fooled me by letting me feel pretty well for the first day, beyond some fatigue and stuffiness.
Tuesday afternoon, my daughter was sick, and, since we had a day of steady rain and the pollen hadn’t been bothering her, it was pretty clear that my issue was viral, not histamine, in nature.
I’m still sniffly and tired, but I’m taking it easy, and feeling better. I expect I’ll be more or less myself by Thursday.
I didn’t manage to get to as many things as I’d hoped to, but I narrowed my focus, and spent the bulk of the minimal focus and energy I had on Kifo Island, between drafting A Rising Tide and planning The Far Shore, which I’ll be starting a little later this month.
I fell behind my target word counts, but I’m not terribly concerned, since I’d like to finish the plotting a couple of days prior to finishing the novel draft, so I can have it ready and a bit of simmering time before I start. Once I get started with that draft, I expect my counts to go up considerably. For now, I’m just as happy to have both projects progressing.
How about you?
How do you react to obstacles like sickness?
Do you take it easy, or tough it out?
- JuNoWriMo: Plan/plot The Far Shore: 24 scenes, using The Writer’s Coloring Book. Finished Quincette and Theresa’s paper dolls, and Ubunta’s character mapping sheets.
For July CampNaNoWriMo: Plan/plot Tsunamis (Kifo Island Chronicles #6): to Scene 12/24, using TWCB. Backing this goal up a bit, to reduce inner pressures. Planning means completing the character mapping and basic story premise.
