Proving Ground: ROW80 2016 Round Two Goals

As Round Two dawns, I’m juggling. I’ve begun drafting my CampNaNoWriMo project, A Rising Tide, the fourth novel in my Kifo Island Chronicles series. I’m writing Enterprise fan fiction for the Blogging From A-Z Challenge, and posting an extended version of each vignette over at, diving headlong into a dream I’ve had for years. I’m also sponsoring this round, as per usual, but I’ve added a new wrinkle by also volunteering as a part-time A-Z Minion for Holton’s Heroes, which means that I have a bracket of 11 blogs to visit each day the challenge is active. And that translates into more comments on my own blog, and time to answer them…

Oh, and the kids and I will be visiting our friends in central New Jersey next weekend, and taking a train into New York City to explore the American Museum of Natural History. It’ll be the first time in the city for both kids, and I’m guessing not a lot of writing or blogging will be happening during that four days, which is bookended by a five-hour drive each way.

This round is my proving ground, where I will test my mettle and my limits, where I hope to learn some new skills, and gain proficiency and confidence that will bring my closer to that next level – completed works ready for self-publication.

Gulp….deep breath…engage!

Round Two 2o16 Color-Coding Legend

  • A Rising Tide (KIC#4): Draft approximately 65,000 words as my CampNaNoWri project. Currently, Scene 4/24; 7,592/65,000 words.

  • Story A Day May (#StaD): Write 31 new Kifo Island stories, using challenge prompts. Use this challenge for exploration of the June and July novel drafts.

  • IDIC Romance A-Z stories: Watch or read transcripts where I’m not sure of events, sequences, or relevant details, prior to scheduling posts. Ongoing.

  • Kifo Island Chronicles: Choose characters and storylines for two new novels, reread all relevant materials, and plot both. To the extent possible, do plot sketches for #StaD stories. Early brainstorming in progress.

  • Complete “Peach Liqueur Love” Deep Revision Exercises;  submit to critique group. Time to finish this; contest deadline is at the end of the month.

  • The IDIC Romance: “Slow Jazz Awakening”: Complete revision plan for 16 scenes; offer to betas. Complete revisions to “Mission Accomplished” and “Scavenger Hunt”: Polish all, and submit to a fan fiction site. Revisions will resume; likely post-April madness.

I am myself. I own my life, and live with three other people who own theirs. My intention is to do only those things that bring me joy, and to give myself wholly to those things I do. Writing has been my passion throughout my life, and this will become the home for my writing life...because it brings me great joy!

    1. I think it will be. And going with knowledgeable friends makes it even better. =D

They have been to Washington D.C., in O’Hare International Airport, and Portland, OR.

But none of those are quite like NYC, so this will definitely be an adventure for us country folk.

I like being an inspiration. My mind gets twitchy if it doesn’t have lots to chew on; as for grace – I can only hope! =D

      Welcome to ROW80, ReGi! =D

  1. Good progress on Camp NaNo so far! I got off to a slow start and didn’t do anything on it over the weekend. I’m hoping that picks up this week, though.

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
