Boldly Going Through the Alphabet: My Blogging From A-Z 2016 Big Theme Reveal!

Guess what? Guess what?

**dances around like an excited child**

It’s time again!

Time for what?

Well, since you asked…it’s time for the

Blogging From A-Z 2016 Theme Reveal!

Gosh, I love this time of year – and it’s even better when I feel as though I’ve got a handle on my theme and my posts, not to mention that all-important CampNaNoWriMo plotting (because the name of this blog is Lovely Chaos, after all, so just one big April challenge won’t do – I need two!).

Admittedly, as the days before April Oneth tick away, I’m not as far along in that process as I’d hoped to be. But I’m getting closer, and I have a plan to get me through what’s not ready yet, so…

Engage!

There might be strange new worlds. New life, and new civilizations.

There will definitely be love and conflict, joy and sorrow, emotion and logic.

Sparks will fly and tears will fall. There will be laughter and lightness to balance the darker parts of life.

And the nature of IDIC – Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations – will be explored, again and again, for 26 lovely, chaotic days.

For those who care about these things, there will be spoilers. Lots of lovely, delicious spoilers.

And I will get to play with my favorite inter-species power couple!

You might say I’m excited. You might suspect I’m a bit odd. Well, both assumptions are logical, and likely true. Why else would I hear a Vulcan woman in my head, insisting that logic requires me to get these stories – her stories – out into the world?

The lady with the pointed ears is often right. She can fight, too, if her temper is triggered. She is a most unusual Vulcan, after all. More than that, she’s not going to have anything keeping her from her t’hy’la. She’s most determined on that score. And I can’t argue with that.

And so, in order of appearance, here is my posting schedule (titles may change as I finalize the stories):

Week One:

Friday, April 1: Arachnid Nebula

  1. Now thats some serious strategy planning for the challenge. You have all the weeks sorted out already.. super cool. Getting motivated looking at your dedication. All the best for the challenge and being a Minion. Hifi on being in the same team Holton’s Heroes.

    1. Well, actually, the base planning started last May, because last April ended up being a tangled mad dash I don’t care to repeat.

I wanted to have everything all pulled together and posted, but there’s that matter of Life, so what I have are five weeks’ worth of stories in various stages of production and pre-production. If I can get the first two up before the month starts, and the next six before Week Two, then I should be able to juggle this, my minioning (Back atcha for being teammates!), and April CampNaNo (at least my novel is plotted and pretty much ready to launch).

My dedication comes in the form of the Vulcan woman in my head, who tends to be the relentless sort. But if she can reach through me and motivate you, that’s efficient!

      We can do this! =D

  2. Wow! Looks like April is going to be a great ride. I opted out this year. Too many other things going on in RL. I will definitely drop by to check out A-to-Z posts. Sounds like things will get interesting.

    1. Sometimes things just don’t line up. I’ve missed at least a year of A-Z. Now, though, I use it to advance other goals, so I’m pretty motivated to see this one through.

My CampNaNo novel is based on three characters and their stories I originally explored as part of the 2014 challenge.

It’s certainly looking like Trip and T’Pol are going to be in for a wild ride of highs and lows. I hope you enjoy any you happen to peek in on (but maybe don’t let T’Pol know you’re peeking; she might not take it especially well).

    1. It’s going to be So. Much. Fun! Well, fun, and angst, and sizzling sparks flying all over the place, and – well, you know. Just typical stuff for these two. =D

          1. Progress is happening. My challenge this year has several moving parts, so it’s a multi-step process. But the A post should be scheduled today, and the B post well underway, and I’m moving through the steps at the end of the alphabet, too….it’s kind of complicated if I try to write it all out, but I’m feeling just enough anxiousness to be motivating, and nowhere near enough to ignore m beloveds or go deer in the headlights, so all is well. =)

          2. Writing them is the easy part – they have very clear ideas of what happens in their lives, and neither one of them is at all shy about telling me! What’s trickier is the revision, and the plotting.

I’m also hoping to include a timeline, because writing a story for every letter AND going in chronological order is just a bit much, at this point, and boggles my brain even to contemplate. So I’m learning a new timeline program on the fly, because the idea of using one only occurred to me a few days ago. Once I get the basics of that down, it’s pretty much a matter of just pulling all the disparate pieces together and letting the magic happen! =)

  3. I’m doing the A-Z thing for the first time this year and you won’t be even slightly surprised to know that I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what I’m going to do.
    Could be interesting…

    1. COULD be a theme! Wandering where surprise leads you. =D

I have this feeling you’re going to be fine. And, well, you probably weren’t at all surprised by my “reveal”. I’ve been planning this since last spring!

  4. Good luck with the Challenge! I’ve waited longer than I should’ve to start preparing the posts for my secondary blog, but since starting them this month, I’ve already finished A-L, P, T, W, X, and Z, as well as starting M. This is in stark contrast to how I had the rough drafts of all my primary blog’s posts written last May, June, and July.

Do you have a special soundtrack that could help you get focused and motivated for your posts? That can really help, particularly once one comes to associate that music with writing.

    1. My soundtrack tends to be life. I’m pretty good at concentrating with activity, which is good since I can’t exactly ask everyone here to just ignore me for the hours it will take.

I do try to take on the more complex components while the house is quiet – people sleeping, or occupied with their own things, because interruptions are less likely then. Sometimes I have silence, and sometimes TV -PBS is good when I’m really focused, whatever at other times. Right now, I’m watching Castle while I work on my profile sheets for CampNaNo, after which I’ll be revising Week Two’s stories, which will probably last into or even through tomorrow.

I do use these videos, and others I feel especially relevant to T’Pol and Trip’s relationship, and a couple of other songs that make me think of them (Jewel’s “The Absence of Fear”, in particular). But music makes me want to sing, and then I’m distracted from writing, because I LOVE to sing as much as I love to write, or nearly so.

I also have the actual series, which I watch for accuracy, consistency, body language, subtext, and getting TnT’s voices as right as I can in my mind and my stories.

And, of course, there’s that Vulcan lady who whispers in my ears…

    1. Somehow, I thought you would like that! =D

BTW, would you like to play with (beta) the revised editions of “Mission Accomplished” (ready now), and “Scavenger Hunt” (ready maybe this week)? They’re both from the December Advent story.

    1. Vulcans and engineers tend to be the organized sort. All I can say is that they made me do it.

Now, they’re insisting that I finish those revisions, set up the posts, and get to work on those extras they insist I need…

Truth is, I write a LOT of TnT stories, and I’d write more if I could just find the time, energy, and focus…

I hope you enjoy them as much as I will! =)

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
