Remnants and Remains: The IDIC Romance Advent Calendar

Advent header new

Wow! Only four days left to the year, and to this little Advent calendar of mine! I hope your 201 was filled with love, laughter, sharing, and so much joy that it flows out from you and embraces others. I hope that the IDIC Romance was maybe a tiny spark of that joy for you, because it certainly has been for me, and, over the last few days, T’Pol’s been in my head almost constantly, and she’s been sharing more pieces of her life, demanding that I tell those stories, too…

Which means that she and Trip are likely to be a big part of my joy, in the year to come.

I’m okay with that! =)

But now, I offer you another rough and imperfect little stone; the seed of a story yet to be germinated, but which is readying itself in my mind…

At the end of today’s story, you’ll find one more paragraphs of Unguarded, courtesy of Erin Zarro, our resident supernova of comments and encouragement.

Enterprise Advent 28

OK, briefing time:

  • Spoiler zone ahead! Don’t read these posts if you don’t want series spoilers, or even spoilers for other parts of The IDIC Romance, because things will be revealed, and I don’t like spoiling…I’d much rather delight.

  • The base art for the calendar elements of this post was created by Annalise S. Burton, and is used with permission and compensation.

  • I don’t own Trip, T’Pol, or the franchise that conceived them. These stories are offered as a gift, without expectation for any financial gain. Of course, comments, rhapsodizing ramblings, and honest feedback of all kinds are always welcome!

And now, to the calendar…..we lift the tab… and find…Trip pressed up against an airlock?

Advent Remnants

Trip sobbed out something in Vulcan. He was pressed against the door of the airlock, shuddering hard enough that Jon wasn’t sure how he was staying on his feet.

“What did he say?” He didn’t know exactly why Hoshi was here; Trip had insisted only that she was T’Pol’s ‘Kiral’, whatever that meant, and Hoshi had backed him up.

“I can’t tell you, Captain. It’s – well, of an intimate nature. I don’t think he even knows we’re here, anymore.”

Trip spoke again; the same thing, or close. His knees folded up, and he sagged his way down to the floor, never losing contact with the airlock. Jon wanted to help him – or at least, the part that wasn’t still reeling over what he’d learned five days ago, at the beginning of this surreal hell, did. But when he’d tried the last time, Trip had thrown an arm out and sent him crashing into the opposite bulkhead. T’Pol might not be here physically, but she could apparently still pack a wallop.

“I’m quite certain that he doesn’t.” Phlox had his scanner out, and showed Jon the brain wave reading – and it was the pattern that he’d seen more and more these last days, the one that said, beyond all doubt, that he’d lost something he’d never really let himself try for.

T’Pol and Trip had been melding when she vanished. Now, their brainwaves were so completely blended that it was impossible to tell which was which. It was Trip’s body crumpled against the airlock he wouldn’t leave -but there were two minds with him, and presumably also with T’Pol, as she neared them on the courier she’d stolen two days ago, when she’d finally gotten loose from her captors.

He didn’t have to wonder how hard that had been. Trip had broken out of her quarters – their quarters, Jon corrected himself- and gone berserk through the corridors.

Completely naked.

It had taken six MACOs and nearly an hour to restrain him. But he wasn’t even close to lucid, and so, according to Phlox, the possibilities were either that all conscious thought was being used by T’Pol as she piloted her way back to them – or that she was as irrational as Trip was, that the separation and almost certain torture she’d endured had been too much even for her.

That’s why they couldn’t send an escort out to her, or do anything but wait here at this airlock for her to come home. That courier was armed to the teeth, and, if she in was even close to the state Trip was in, she might shoot first and consider it logically never…

Will T’Pol make it home?

Will she and Trip recover?

Who took her, and why?

Are they still looking for her?

What’s next?

Drop me a comment, and I’ll add a paragraph. The more comments, the more paragraphs I add. So go ahead – give me something to keep me busy!

And, as promised, here’s one more paragraph of Unguarded:

They were together, merging, becoming one – and, without thought, T’Pol had opened to him. The act was as involuntary as orgasm; autonomic, born of their growing unity, and the telerotic ecstasy of the moment. They were together, falling, flying, dancing through one another’s souls and minds – and then they were not, the blow of Trip’s sudden closing a fierce blow, driving her away, rejecting her. She was alone, and she wept in his arms – arms that offered no more comfort, in this moment, than his soothing murmurs of apology.

    1. There are other stories from this thread…if you’d like, I’ll put the links in order and send them to you. It might make more sense of this…I wouldn’t do that for just anybody, but you’ve been with me every day, and it’s been wonderful to share the journey with someone who enjoyed it so much!

But basically, pregnant sick T’Pol vanishes from the ship, leaving a seemingly deranged Trip behind. Stuff happens, and she gets away, and that brings us here…

        1. I’ll have that for you in a few days…once today’s post and my other end of year stuff is done, I’ll go on a scouting mission for you. It’ll make us both happy – there’s quite a bit of reading there – alternate versions, even! =D

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
