Gratitude on the Go: November 15, 2015

So, how have the last few days treated you? Has life offered up some interesting and thought-provoking surprises? Exceeded your expectations? Given a little chuckle as your plans went awry?

I’ve had a little bit of all of those, this session. It’s kept me on my toes, and stirred up my thoughts. I feel new things taking shape, waxing with the new moon. It’s not time to leap, yet – it’s still time to learn things.

But, as I near the end of one major goal, and in the time before I immerse myself in the next, there’s an opening space for smaller projects, research, and pondering…

Oh, and living. This week has also provided my daughter her first exposure to a new love – zorbing, which she tried at her cousin’s birthday party yesterday. I also attended a write-in at the home of a friend – in a lovely old farmhouse filled with fascinating things and cats. =)

In the words of the fictional, but still inimitable, Hawkeye Pierce, it’s been a full-rich week.

Color-coding key:

  • Goal attained = blue with overstrike.

  • Goal in progress = green.

  • Goal-in-waiting = red.

  • Goal set aside = red with overstrike.

  • NaNoWriMo: Complete draft of Sea Changes (Kifo Island Chronicles #3). . This near-future fantasy will be about 60,000 words, total. I’m officially at 52,969/~ 60,000; yup,a NaNo win, and beyond. 19/24 scenes completed; with the Black Moments underway. Emotions are high, and the outlook is about to turn bleak…at least for a while…

  • The IDIC Romance: Choose one freewriting for each letter to develop into an A-Z post; make episode list for rewatching, and take notes as needed. Hey, #itswritingresearch! 1/31 stories chosen. 21/26 letters completed; 1 /2 V completed. I’ll take this on once Sea Changes is complete; as a palate cleanser before delving back into FDWR.

Blogging/Social Media:

  • Publish all regular features posts; scheduling ahead where possible. Still not managing all my posts, but hoping to change that through the remainder of the month as things settle out.

  • Catch up all blog comments and visits. I’ve made progress here. I’ve still got a backlog, but I intend to stay current, and get to older comments in spare moments.

  • ROW80: Keep visits and updates current. I’m keeping up. =)

  • Maintain email inbox below 333 messages. New phone/Kindle tandem system is working beautifully.

  • Homeschool Administration: Complete all pending paperwork. Draft IHIPs and attend to district’s Peer Review issue. Collecting screenshots from The Boyo’s various online projects, in preparation for wrapping up the Peer Review issue.
  • Get computer repaired!
  • Continue decluttering/beautification projects; in home and/or yard, five days weekly. Continue making improvements to our home and our quality of life. Focus on maintenance and implementing ideas from 5,000 Words Per Hour.  7/5 hometending. Lise’s room; family room; living room; study. Postponing the book goal for the rest of the month, at least.

  • Continue planning/ attending outings and events as desired. The children received another short-notice birthday invite; Annalise accepted; boy declined. Birthday shopping done; zorbing party attended, and a new pastime discovered. Write-in at a friend’s house Saturday night – coffee, food, chatter, cats, and, oh, words! =)

  • NNWM local group: Attend write-ins regularly, and check in on the Facebook and Twitter groups as inspired. Read and critique both projects I’ve been hanging onto. Doing a bit better overall; hoping to get to one of these critiques in the next week to ten days.
  • Complete the two beta reads I’ve had waaay too long. Beta #2 complete through Chapter Four (p15/121).

  • My beloveds: One on one time with each, doing something of value to us both, each week. Oh, yes! Walks and outside exploration. Reading bedtime stories. Playing games. Shopping and partygoing. Couples’ time. Shared videos and meals. And lots of conversation!
  • Complete 7 pending book reviews.

  • Write in Abundance,Intentions, and #onegoodcup journals seven times each week. Meditate seven times weekly, including one eating meditation. Explore one new meditative practice. 7/7 for journaling and meditation. Exploring object meditation – seeking to become the object.

  • T’ai chi practice: at home three times; class once or twice a week. Continue reading The Tai Chi Directory. Setting aside until the CPS matter is closed, due to timing.

  • Make time for physical activity five days a week; use phone app to track three time a week. 6/5; 3/3 with phone.

Leaps of Faith:

  • Poetry Chapbooks:Basic research and discussion on what chapbooks are;  concept simmering.

  • Website/Business blog: Brainstorming.

  • Fantasy convention: Prices  far too high for me.

  • Fan fiction stuff

  • Self-publishing: Considering something….stay tuned. I also began reading Write. Publish. Repeat from the Indie Author’s Power Pack Box Set I bought over the summer. A whole new paradigm is beginning to reveal itself.

These goals are a part of Kait Nolan’s  ROW80 Writing Challenge.

It’s a blog hop –

I am myself. I own my life, and live with three other people who own theirs. My intention is to do only those things that bring me joy, and to give myself wholly to those things I do. Writing has been my passion throughout my life, and this will become the home for my writing life...because it brings me great joy!
