Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors’
It’s the weekly hop for everyone who loves to write! We’ve got a variety of genres and talented writers just waiting for you to come sample their wordy wares. Come read one, or all, or pick a few like wildflowers or sweet berries….
And, if you’re inclined to share your own 8-10 sentence snippet, follow the link and sign up. It’s a great community to be a part of! =D
This week, I offer you the ten-sentence installment #6 in my serialized Star Trek: Enterprise flash fan fiction story, “Mission Accomplished”. We begin right where last week’s snippet, “Losing Focus” ended.
With a mystery to solve, T’Pol’s on to something, and a brainstorming volley ensues…but its this really what Captain Archer is looking for, or are they following T’Pol’s conquering fingertips down the wrong track?
“Something Totally Unrelated”
“I’ll be damned – you’re right. We also don’t know what ‘few items’ he, she, or it absconded with.”
“Or that the ‘M.A.’ was left by the invader-”
“Or that it was initials. Could’ve been a code, or something totally unrelated to the crime…”
“If there was a crime. Perhaps the ‘victim’ staged the scene to procure some benefit. Wasn’t that common practice, in Earth’s recent past?”
“I think so. But the Cap’n said we had to use these clues.”
Are they on the right track?
Will they figure out the mystery?
Will T’Pol’s fingertips mind their manners?
Will Trip be able to resist, if they don’t?
What will they do next?
Come on back next week to find out!
Need to read back? Here’s all of “Mission Accomplished” that’s been posted, thus far:
“Playing Along”: September 13, 2915
“Wasting Time”: September 20, 2015
“Vulcans Don’t Scowl”: September 27. 2015
Stow the Fantasies: October 4, 2015
“Losing Focus”: October 11, 2015
Challenges like Story A Day September encourage me to think outside of my own experience. Fitting all the prompts into my fan fiction universe, ups the ante.
Of course, I also get to play with Trip and T’Pol! =D
And, now, the obligatory disclaimer:
Trip, T’Pol, and Trek: None of these are mine. Can I help it if these two unlikely lovers keep insisting I tell their stories? =)
