Love, Marriage, and Goal-Adjusting : August 23, 2015

Round Three is all about reflection, for me: where I am, who I am, where I’d like to be, and who I’d like to be when I get there.

With August waning, it’s time for me to look at my wildly flowering garden of goals, and do a bit of weeding and pruning, so I can nurture those that are healthiest. I’ll come back to some of the others, next month…

It’s also my eighteenth wedding anniversary, so I thought I’d share some celebratory images, and a poetic glimpse into our lives

Sunset in Florence, Oregon, 2000. Yup, we took selfies LONG before they were cool – with a film camera, no less!

  1. Happy anniversary! Sorry I’m late.

I love your gardening analogy, especially the reminder to give attention to what is flourishing to help it grow even more. And the reminder that it’s okay, even a good idea, to set some things aside for later.

    1. It’s OK – we celebrated all last week, and into the weekend. +D

I often think of writing in gardening terms. I start with more goals than I can finish, and that way there’s always something I can work on, and I can see how the month shapes itself…

It might not work for everyone, but it’s an essential component of my being able to write, unschool, and be otherwise present in my life.

Happy to offer the reminder. =D

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
