We’ve Lost June…: Round Two Goals End of May Update

ROWing to the end of Round Two!

From the beginning of Round Two:

I want to embrace my goals, and nurture them while they nurture me, in a symbiotic relationship. I want more joy, and less stress.

I’ve winnowed and shifted my goals, and I’m ready to adapt, if I feel an unnatural pressure forming. This is my Expansion Round, and I’m looking not for rampant swelling, but natural growth.

June’s arrival, even if it’s a lot colder here than usual for this time of year, marks the homestretch of the round…and time for me to assess where I am, and where I’d like to be, when “the end” comes…and with it, a breathing space before the new beginning that is Round Three.  So, away we go… and, maybe, if I finish this update, June will find us, soon….

Write1Sub1: Draft one story, and submit one, each month, on average. Complete revision and submit “Slow Jazz Awakening” by the end of the round; complete “Peach Liqueur Love” edits through Deep Revision Step 3. Kifo Island Chronicles novel projects for April and June. 31 new TnT stories drafted for May.

  • Created basic pre-editing plan for “Slow Jazz”, which I will add to organically, as I move through the process. Highlights/comments for Round 3 edits complete; pre-editing notes for 2/16 scenes. Still behind, still making slow progress; hoping to finish “Jazz” by round’s end, playing with “Peach Liqueur” during its resting phases. I may remain behind at least until August, when I end my four-month creative challenge marathon!
  • Far ahead on the writing component of this goal, with 31 new stories for May, and a second KIC novel queued up to finish in June.

Kifo Island Chronicles: Draft 3 novellas, using Cathy Yardley’s  Rock Your Plot.

Star Trek Chronology Project:  Rewatch Star Trek: Enterprise.

The IDIC Romance:  Draft 31 new stories for Story a Day May; post stories or excerpts from each, daily.

  • Stories and posts completed; posting one per day more than one each day, a few added snippets, and one “why am I doing this?” post. Planning a wrap-up and a blog page for June.

Blogging from A-Z  travel posts: Complete all, on time.

Trueborn Warp/Weft Series: Select July project and plot, using The Snowflake Method  (read this book).

  • Book read; project selected: “Foul Deeds Will Rise”, a Trueborn Weft Series novel that chronicles the coming-of-age stories of Tribed Trueborn twins Niaan and Vaara.
  • Planning will commence no later than June 5.

The IDIC Romance: Complete revision and submit “Slow Jazz Awakening”; Draft 31 new stories in May.

  • Preparing for Revision Pass #3. All stories drafted.

Write1Sub1: Revise “Peach Liqueur Love”, using Sarah Selecky’s Deep Revision process; choose final short story to revise in 2015.

  • Revision Process in early progress.

Social Media:

Blog Maintenance: Keep regular posting schedule, comments, and visits.

  • Comments and visits fluctuate, but overall better. Posts on track.

Blogging Action Plan: Revise plan; overhaul Lovely Chaos sidebar.

  • Minor changes to sidebar; more planned.

Share posts – mine, and others’: Share generously as inspired!

  • This has been a bit sporadic, as I rethink and explore various options for sharing.

Explore social media as it fits with life and writing.

  • It hasn’t been the easiest of fits, with challenges and writing intensity…but I haven’t become invisible yet, either, so there’s that.

Continue with near-daily decluttering/beautification projects; begin shifting some energy and focus to the yard.

  • Progress in all bedrooms; family; living room; and front porch; raking and decluttering yard; planting, weeding, and mowing.

Homeschool Administration: Complete third quarter homeschool reports for both kids, due June 15. Letters of intent filed. Annalise’s standardized test ordered, administered, and returned by July 1.

  • Talked with Annalise about ordering test and timing thereof. Will order in early June, which will give us most of June to complete and return. Good, since this is her first standardized test.

Photo digitalization: Scan Arizona travel photos; save in organized files with backup.

  • Some Arizona; some others, as needed for posts.

ROW80: Submit sponsor post; keep visits up-to-date.

  • Yes.

Kindle ebooks by authors I know: Read 1, and write reviews for 3.

  • Maybe soon; nothing new yet.

NNWM local group: Continue attending write-ins whenever possible; interact regularly online.

  • I love my group! =D

Meditation: Experiment with guided/unguided meditation twice a week.

  • Becoming more natural and varied; making the goal every week.

Starfleet: Fill out application and attend at least one USS Albany group meeting.

  • Not yet. I may postpone this goal.

My beloveds: One on one time with each, at least four times per month, doing something of value to us both.

  • Exceeding – Usually, a few times a week for each.

Fitness and Nutrition:

Workouts: at the Y or a strenuous activity at least twice weekly.

  • Mostly; not perfect.

Practice: Resume t’ai chi or yoga classes by end of round.

  • T’ai chi has become a regular part of my schedule. Postponing yoga at least for now.

Intuitive Eating:

Read and begin considering.

  • 34% read. Pondering.

These goals are part of Kait Nolan’s ROW80 Writing Challenge.

I am myself. I own my life, and live with three other people who own theirs. My intention is to do only those things that bring me joy, and to give myself wholly to those things I do. Writing has been my passion throughout my life, and this will become the home for my writing life...because it brings me great joy!

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
