Organic Growth: Round Two April Update

ROWin’ my way down the river that is May!

Where does the time go? How can Round Two be a month in, already?

I entered the round feeling very ready, and not at all ready, at the same time.

Maybe it figures that, as I take a few moments to take account on where I’ve come from, where I’m headed, but mostly where I am, right now, I feel like I’ve come a long way, and not far at all…

Is there such a thing as a tessaract? 😉

Round One was my Revisioning Round – my chance to explore and stretch and get a better sense of where I’m going. I accomplished a good deal. But it felt more forced and rushed than I like. I prefer playful challenges to the exhaustive grinding marathon of ‘have-to’s’. Imaginative expeditions into possibility fit our unschooling family much better than a stressed-out, results-driven woman sharing their home..

So, at the beginning of Round Two, my Expansion Round, I wrote this:

I want to embrace my goals, instead, and nurture them while they nurture me, in a symbiotic relationship. I want there to be more joy, and less stress.

So, I’ve winnowed and shifted my goals, and I’m ready to adapt, if I feel an unnatural pressure forming. This is my Expansion Round, and I’m looking not for rampant swelling, but a more natural growth. Like a plant or a baby, where growth is the order of the day.

With that in mind…off we go, to sow some seeds!

It’s been a month. I feel as though the growth and expansion are happening, and, mostly, they’re organic. I’ve fallen into that ‘have-to’ trap here and there, but I’ve climbed out again…and here’s where I was, on May 1.

Write1Sub1: Draft one story, and submit one, each month.  Kifo Island Chronicles  novella projects for April and June. May will see 31 new TnT stories. I will revise and submit “Slow Jazz Awakening” in April; “Peach Liqueur Love” in May, and possibly the next compilation story from The IDIC Romance in June.

  • Started the highlighting and commenting in preparation for Round 3 edits on “Slow Jazz”. Behind on this goal; I’ll finish “Jazz” in May, and play with “Peach Liqueur” during its resting phases.
  • Ahead on the writing component of this goal, and with at least 31 new stories this May, I’ll have a cornucopia of editing candidates.
  • Adapted goal: Complete revision and submit “Slow Jazz Awakening” by the end of the round; complete “Peach Liqueur Love” edits through Deep Revision Step 3.

Kifo Island Chronicles: Draft 3 novellas, using Cathy Yardley‘s  Rock Your Plot.

I am myself. I own my life, and live with three other people who own theirs. My intention is to do only those things that bring me joy, and to give myself wholly to those things I do. Writing has been my passion throughout my life, and this will become the home for my writing life...because it brings me great joy!

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
