January 25, 2015: Focusing My Vision

ROWin’ along through January!

Wow, here we are – already at the penultimate January update! A little hard to believe, isn’t it?

It’s the time in the month where I tend to narrow my focus to those items I most want to complete. In this case, it’s my Write1 Sub1 and Just Jot It January challenges.

I intentionally set a large and diverse array of goals, knowing that I wouldn’t have time to finish everything on the list, but that I could move many things forward. As we move through the last week of the month, I’m a little astounded by how far I’ve come – nearly everything started, and more than two dozen completed, with nearly that many more in progress.

What isn’t finished this month will form the basis of my February goals. With a trip to Oregon taking up the second half of the month, it seems like a good idea not to pile on a heap of new goals. Oh, and I’m sharing Oregon pictures from looong ago, because I finally can! =)

And how about you? Have you found your stride in this new year, or are you still feeling things out, and choosing a direction?

I am myself. I own my life, and live with three other people who own theirs. My intention is to do only those things that bring me joy, and to give myself wholly to those things I do. Writing has been my passion throughout my life, and this will become the home for my writing life...because it brings me great joy!

    1. It’s been a slower couple of days, but a good deal of forward momentum on some of the longer term projects.

I’m very nervous about the plane – neither of the kids has ever flown, and I am by no means a height person – but I’m really excited about being in Oregon again – it’s been about 14 years! We’re going to get the chance to meet some unschooling families in person we’ve only known online, too!

  1. Once again – awesome goal achievement in so many areas. Well done Shan. I should be able to accomplish more. but I am moving forward. All the best in the week ahead!

    1. We all have our own pace and our own lives. You’ve got art pursuits, too…and my mind can be….frenetic. It NEEDS to be fed!

Sometimes, I wish it would slow down just a bit…. =)

    1. My brain needs lots and lots to play with! I never do finish everything – my goals are bigger than my ability to meet them in a month – but I definitely make a lot more progress than I would if I only had a few.

I’ve just got a mind that loves short focused bursts in lots of areas, at the same time, so I go with it!

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
