Second-Serving Sunday – uhhh -Thursday: The Traveling Edition!

A weekly peek backwards and a look ahead, in my little corner of the blogosphere

This is a very, very late Second Serving Sunday post…and it’s not going to have a lot of chatter.  The kids and I visited out-of-state friends last week, from Thursday- Sunday, and I haven’t been getting much sleep these last couple of weeks…because the stories are alive in my imagination, and they need to be written…

So I’m going to go ahead and get this posted, and then get on with the writing…but, before I do, I want to wish a Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate!

And now, on to the week’s goodies!

Last week in life:

  • Another local NaNo write-in, a trip to visit our New Jersey friends, more writing, and hometending…

My writing plan for December:

  • Complete kids’ first quarter homeschool reports, due December 15.
  • Complete rough draft my NaNoWriMo project, The Earth Doth Move, another Star Trek: TOS/Enterprise crossover fan fictiongreat progress this week; I’ve now got only 7 scenes left to write.
  • Complete rough draft of my “dangling” fanfiction WIP from July 2013 CampNaNo, Perchance to Dream. – 10 scenes left to write. I’ll finish this one after I finish TEDM.
  • Complete and post the review I promised. (overstrike; completed)
  • Draft a basic writing plan for 2015, with a focus for each season/round. I’ve given this a little thought, and will rough out ideas this week.

And on the blog:

Have a very stick pony Christmas!

Life Stuff:

      • Writing and traveling. Ice skating for one child; a trip to the farmer’s market and an organic micro-dairy for another; dinner out, new friends, old friends, music, and fun for us all!

Want to join in on the Second Serving Sunday fun? Here’s how!

Author:

I am myself. I own my life, and live with three other people who own theirs. My intention is to do only those things that bring me joy, and to give myself wholly to those things I do. Writing has been my passion throughout my life, and this will become the home for my writing life...because it brings me great joy!

    1. All of the clips were assembled from the show, so, for those of us who watched it, it’s funny to see those bits in a different way, especially since at least a couple (fire an light, particularly) were taken from very tense moments.

Two ‘inside jokes’ were ‘tea, Earl Grey, hot’ – that’s what Captain Picard routinely drank – and “Shut up,Wesley” – a very young Wil Wheaton played Acting Ensign Wesley Crusher, who often had the answers waaay before the adults who often discounted his ideas only to later learn that he was right..

It’s neat to learn that the song works even for those who haven’t seen the show. =)

And may your holidays have just the perfect sparkle for you!

      1. thanks – and I may not ever have the time to watch this show – but I know I am missing out – cos some of the coolest people seem to love it
        Peace

        1. There is so much to Star Trek…and it has changed the course of my life. I say that in all seriousness.I wouln’t be me without it.

          But it’s not for everybody.

And I’m willing to provide glimpses in a non time-consuming manner! =D

          1. a very special friend of mine from 1990 (well a former short term boyfriend who was visiting the states from England) well it was his favorite show and he was Spock for Halloween one year! And my favorite show ever has been Monk – 🙂

          2. Funny – I had a short term boyfriend once who was visiting the states from Ireland. =)

My son was Spock – a very blonde Spock! – for Halloween when he was seven. We still have his phaser.

I like Monk. I’ve only watched it here and there, but I always enjoy it.

          3. The blonde Spock sounds fun. one of my kid’s favorite costumes ever was when he was Link from the video game series.
it was actually when we moved to VA – it was march and he was begging for that costume. they did not sell one and so I threw one together (thanks to wal-mart material and felt)- it was hysterical because he wore his link costume with sword to a chuck e cheese party and all the employees knew him – one greeter lit up and said “Glad Link is here” – it was fun… 🙂

          4. I didn’t have any idea at all who Link was until my son introduced me when he was 10 or so. Since then, I’ve become much better acquainted…he had a time of loving amusing Link fan videos, of playing Zelda games. and, in the last year or so, of watching game theory videos that often feature Link.

What an awesome costume! My blonde Spock was rather emotional for a Vulcan, but, well, he was still very cool!

          5. well one of the parents in our party asked us if we had brought the neighbor kid down the street and we were like – that’s our son” lol – but he did not know Zelda (and thanks for the name, I was trying to think of it…)

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
