A Somewhat Off-Kilter Nest: November 16, 2014

Wanna ROW with us?!

So, is it warm enough for you? Or cold enough?

I know. That’s a little paradoxical, as questions go. But I have readers all across the world, and so these are things I think about.

It’s cold, here. I’ve resisted starting a fire, so far – I don’t know why, but it’s the same every year, like there’s some little part of me that thinks that this small act of bringing fire inside is the beginning of the winter season.

Once we’ve done it, I revel in the glow, the warmth, the smell, even the challenge of keeping the fire fed, without allowing it to either die out or get uncomfortably warm. But, for now, I’m avoiding, even though the first snow of the season has fallen, and was enough to dust the ground for several hours.

It’s not quite winter enough, just yet…

Note: The kids and I attended a party early in the day, today. When we got home, my Accomplice had already left for work…and left us a mellow little first fire of the season.

  1. We don’t have a fire but we do have a pellet stove. And we didn’t start it up until November. There were a couple cold days in October, but we resisted.

Looks like there’s a lot more target attained and on target than not here. Great work!

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
