WIPpet Wednesday: Collision Course

Welcome to WIPpet Wednesday, a weekly blog hop which encourages writers to move WIPs (works-in-progress) to publication by posting excerpts related to the date. It is hosted by the lovely K.L. Schwengel, maven of bad boys, stock dogs, and flying monkeys!

Here’s another snippet from The IDIC Romance, my Story A Day May Challenge project. This is a Star Trek: Enterprise fan fiction, exploring the interspecies relationship of T’Pol and Trip.

For those keeping track:

This is the twelfth installment of Story #4, “Tigress T’Pol” . The prompt was to write a story of exactly 2000 words. An additional guest prompt from Heidi Durrow invited us to explore passion in this story.

Disclaimer: T’Pol, Trip, and all the rest of Star Trek are property of CBS/Paramount; no copyright infringement intended. I just want to play with them, and I’m careful!

WIPpet Math:

  • Today is September 17, 2014.
  • 17 sentences. Easy-peasy!

This snippet follows immediately after last week’s WIPpet, Closing the Gap. Trip’s feeling almost deliriously happy, and T’Pol – well, T’Pol can be rather surprising, not to mention, well, assertive.…to maybe put it mildly.

This is an add-on scene for the pilot episode: “Broken Bow Part 1”. Ive done my best to extrapolate without violating series canon.

Between breaths, T’Pol clamped her arms around me, and went up on her tiptoes, bringing her face to mine, lips parted and her hot sweet breath making wordless demands. I tried to pretend she hadn’t just shocked the hell out of me, and that my ribs didn’t feel like they were about to crack with the power of her embrace.

Easy,” I whispered into one of those gorgeous ears of hers, and, when she shuddered and gasped, easing up a little on the Vulcan bear-hug, I brushed my mouth tenderly against hers- damn, but her lips were soft and full and moist, and she tasted maybe better than she smelled. I wanted to kiss her long and deep, and never come up for air, even if she squeezed me to death.

But tenderness apparently wasn’t T’Pol’s cup of tea. She grunted and snaked one hand behind my head, her fingers tugging at my hair. My yelp got smothered by her tongue as it thrust into my mouth, claiming me. Her taste and scent filled me up, made me dizzy and lightheaded. Her other hand clawed its way down my back to my hip; she used it for leverage as she moved in an insistent primal dance that needed no translation. Damn – I felt like my jumpsuit was three sizes too small, all of a sudden; she was relentless, nails digging into my backside, keeping me right where she wanted me.

I’d heard the old cliche about getting lost in someone’s eyes a thousand times, maybe more. This was different – T’Pol’s deep hazel eyes were dilated, passion-glazed, and unblinking. They stared into mine as though there was nothing else in the universe. She was pulling me into her – and I wished she’d look at me this way forever.

Suddenly, her leg hooked behind mine. I struggled, trying to avoid falling, but she held onto me, going down on one knee, somehow supporting my weight, then pressing me back against the floor, her mouth never releasing mine, her hand still cradling the back of my head. A hell of a lot faster than I could react, she was straddling me, her breasts crushed against my chest, her eyes holding me captive, telling me that I was hers, all hers – and then, just when my hands found the firm supple curves of her rear as she ground mercilessly against me, she made a grab for the zipper at my throat.

Will Trip get to keep his modesty, or will he surrender to the force that is T’Pol, aroused? Is this the best use of a cell, ever? Is anyone ever coming by to spring them? Would they even want them to, at this point?

You guessed it – you can watch the episode, or come back next week for another WIPpet snippet!

These posts are the seeds of a project I’ll be expanding in 2015, so your input is always valuable. No need to feel shy; I’m a friendly sort, and will keep my phase pistol on stun… for the most part. 😉

I am myself. I own my life, and live with three other people who own theirs. My intention is to do only those things that bring me joy, and to give myself wholly to those things I do. Writing has been my passion throughout my life, and this will become the home for my writing life...because it brings me great joy!

  1. I need to remember to bring ice when I read your WIPpets. You know your way around a steamy scene that is for damn sure. Sexual tension, burning passion, sensuality…go, girl!

  2. Oooh, baby! Hot stuff, Shan!

I know I told ya you should consider writing romance at some point — this makes me even more convinced! Ok, romance doesn’t usually use the first person, but I think it would be easy enough to translate a hot scene like this to limited third. Not that I should tell you what to do. But I definitely have the feeling of seeing a talent being born. 🙂

    1. That T’Pol – she doesn’t do things halfway! Maybe it’s not logical. 😉

You’re really getting some wheels spinning. Maybe I need to start with my Vulcans, and the Kifo Island stories, and branch out from there…

I did play with third person limited during Story a Day, and I use it in other projects, too.

Your encouragement is pretty exciting, and I’ll be thinking about it as I set my 2015 goals…so stay tuned. At the least, I can add in some romantic subplots! =D

  3. *fans self* Well, that was plenty steamy enough to clear out my poor clogged sinuses. I really, really love the way you write them. As much passion as there is between them, there’s an undercurrent of tenderness, too. She’s all over him, but she makes sure to keep him from smashing his head. I don’t know why that particular detail spoke to me, but it did.

    1. Well, you know, there is a certain logic to not killing your prospective mate before you can get him well and truly into the clinches!

I’ve always LOVED the way T’Pol does the neck pinch…execute and step daintily away so as not to get hit by the falling body of her victim…

But Trip is different, right from the start. Him, she’ll get to the ground safely (with sore ribs, and pulled hair, but still safely!).

I’ve always sensed that in their relationship. Both of them are opinionated and stubborn; and they both learn very quickly to make allowances for one another’s differences. They may not always get it right (really, what would be the fun in that?!), but it matters, I think, that they try…

Clogged sinuses are no fun. Happy to be able to help. Fell better, Amy!

    1. Silly muse – I wanted to read Rachel’s insightful comment! *pouts just a little.*

I’m wondering just what T’Pol is planning to do with that zipper, and what Trip thinks about it, if he even has time to think about it!

(And I’m lying. I know what happens next. I’m just not telling till Wednesday! Take THAT, Rachels’ Muse!).

I hope your week is laced with lovely anticipation of what these two are going to get up to next! 😉

  4. Oh my god, that scene is hot, hot, hot! I loved the comment about his jumpsuit feeling a few sizes too small. This scene is AMAZING. You know I absolutely love this pair and the sheer electricity they produce. I need a cup of tea to calm down!

    1. Chamomile, I assume? Maybe you’d better brew one for T’Pol, too…she might need a little calming down, 😉

And poor Trip. Those jumpsuits were not made for THIS type of action – and neither was his fragile human constitution! =D

        1. He might just be…

He might also be more than a little scared at being pinned underneath a woman strong enough to really hurt him – and tempting enough to have her way with him…

We’ll have to see which way this goes…Wednesday. =)

    1. Don’t ask me – I’m perimenopausal! =)

And Trip? Well, Vulcans have a higher body temperature than humans, so he’s probably more than a bit toast with all that T’Pol for a blanket! =D

    1. Aroused Vulcan ladies are a LOT more, ummm, assertive (yeah, let’s go with assertive!) than human women. Trip could get hurt – but maybe he won’t mind so much. I mean, he does have a whole body full of T’Pol, only a zipper or so away…

I really need to watch The Princess Bride again. It’s been a loooong time! =)

    1. I’m not sure T’Pol agrees. I’m thinking her hand’s on his zipper for a reason she’s probably trying to convince herself is perfectly logical…and she’s maybe more than a little agitated that I’m going to make her wait an entire week to do anything more about it!

As for what Trip’s thinking about all this…well, now, we’ll just have to wait and see! =D

      1. This has nothing to do with the WIPpet, but a couple weeks ago, you volunteered to do a review for me on my blog, and I need both your email and to know what version e-book you would like. Thanks again and let me know!

  5. I probably shouldn’t read these at work, but, well… I couldn’t resist. And, well done! You have me riveted, waiting for next week! 🙂

    1. Umm, yeah. Maybe don’t read next week’s at work. 😉 I mean, T’Pol could get that zipper down quick, maybe, and it goes down to the waist….

I love keeping people’s attention riveted on a zipper tab for a week! *evil writer laugh!*

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
